Been working on this for a couple days. First thing of this type I have ever made. Red Oak and my buddy is going to finish it. Same guy that got the book cases a while back.

I wrapped the legs so they had the same grain. I also did the tops of the middle stretchers.

Here is how I attached the top. Didn't really like the figure 8 fasteners.

Questions comments welcome.

I like the mission style, among others. It looks great, but how did you do the joints? No fair just showing the finished pics. You know how we like to see the details.;)

looks like your on a roll,, now for question number one, just because you have drawers full of planes, doesnt mean you need 5 hammers hanging up on the peg board.. you cant only use one hammer at a time and those dont look like they are much differnce between them:)

It's really nice builds like this that get me thinking that maybe it's time to give up the early American/Shaker style stuff that I make and give mission/craftsman style a shot. I'm really starting to like that style a lot. Then again if the powers to be ever found out, I'd be tarred and feathered, escorted out of New England, and be forced to live in the mid-west :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Great job Steve.:thumb:

Steve well done. Thats my favorite style now i learned from Bob i could not live in my favorite part of the USA if i had that furniture. :(
Never figured a Yankee would let folks dictate his furniture style Bob:)

Steve whats the finish going to be when he gets it.

He has a special mix of stain that he used through out his whole house. It helps with the different colors of the red oak. Then a couple coats of poly over that. He usually puts enough poly it looks like a plastic dip:eek:
