    glue question?

    if one had a thin strip of wood that was made to be flexible, think lumber scale and it cracked length wize what glue would be the best to put it back together? it would need to have some flexibilty.. does normal yelo glue have any flex in it?

    I don't know how much flex that strip of wood needs to have, but archery bows are glued together with epoxy.

    thanks bruce,, the thing about it is it is going a different direction and only a thin area for glue? i know what you mean on bows but they are using a wider surface area??

    I guess you have two choices:

    1. Try some glues and see which works.

    2. Make a new strip. I just can't guess the outcome.

    On further reflection, one of the typical laminations in many bows is itself a laminated strip of maple called superflex actionwood, which is made by laminating 1/8" layers of maple and then sawing that piece at right angles to the original layers. That results in an extremely flexible piece that has joints in the direction that you describe.
