here we go.....

well, got another 5 done today. it would have been 6, but one blank refused to cooperate no matter how i persuaded it. just didn't want to become a pencil holder. with those 5 done, and 1 in the burn box, that leaves me with 6 pepper mills, 16 vases and such done, with 3 to go. here are pics of today's 5. i included a pic of the back of the last vase, as it had both nice spalting, and figuring. (where is that machine levine? this picking up his slack is wearing me to a frazzle....)

finally got the last of them done today. now comes the fun part, cleaning up the lathe, and the area around it. the last time i saw something throwing stuff around like this is when i had a parakeet years ago. after the cleanup, i'll be working on a new floor board for a friend's truck, and starting in on the planing of parts for a table top wine rack. hard to believe that i had all that running round the ol brain pan.

since i have had a good experience with the pepper mills, i'll be making 4 more out of the flame birch that i ordered.
