    The Lone Ranger

Jay Thomas told this story on Letterman's show. It is about Clayton Moore, who played the Lone Ranger on television, who was known for taking his role seriously and never breaking character in public.

That was a great story. Not what I expected to hear, but a great story indeed!

I knew a "gentle giant" at my previous job and he would joke about his ability to quietly "loom" over people... We agreed that "looming" was the right word. I can see Larry looming over people!

When Glenn was in High School he had a friend---As Myrna put it, "I sure would not want to meet him on a dark night." Anyway he was truly a gentle giant, even though he looked like a Hell's Angel.

    Enjoy,
