    this piece of maple has been banging around the shop for a couple of years... rock hard, didn't owe me a thing, but I chucked it up anyway...

    I was working on the lip when I had a catch and it went skittering across the floor. I may save it and try again, but I just got word friends of mine took a tree down today... I get fresh wood tomorrow! woohoo!

    Yep been there done that. Now i always bring up the tail and help hold it in place.

    I was going between the edge and scooping out the inside of the bowl... there's lots of wood left there... I may still salvage it at some point.
