    Backwards router?

Anyone know if a Porter Cable 1609 can be wired/jury rigged to run counter clockwise?

or, does anyone know of a router that runs in reverse?

Looking to do a left and right router for doing dovetails. It would alleviate the need to cut the bottoms off, or having to deal with a small amount of tear out on two corners of the drawer bottom.

Yes, I know I'd need a separate bit as well.

Interesting idea. You'd need a custom backwards bit, right?

Not all motors are going to be the same, but I would think you could try switching the brush leads around on the motor. Concern I guess would be if the collet needed to be a reversed thread or if it would work loose if it wasn't.

    bits are available.

The collet shouldn't be a big deal. I run shapers backwards all the time with climb cuts, you just gotta get it really tight.
