WOB platter

Havn't had much time for turning lately, but this am decided to finish up this white oak burl platter that i had ruffed turned about 3 months ago. It's one of only 2 that i ruffed that made the drying process.:( It's about 9x1 1/4, and only has 1 coat of teak oil on as of the pic. Need to get the wifes green house finished so i can get back to turning.:rofl:008 (800x739).jpg010 (800x744).jpg

Oak is a lot like fruitwood...hard as a rock and super unstable. I have a much better drying environment for wood of that poor quality. I'll take pity on you and have a lash at drying it next time!;)
