Hi All long time since posting but have been really busy with work. :) I am finally heading off on a vacation to Vegas with the wife for a week ( first time to Vegas ever for either of us). I was wondering if anyone here has any info on any good wood working / turning supply stores, flea markets, pawn shops there? Not that I have lots of room to bring things back but would like to see what is availible ( never know what treasures might be found). Any tips on things that we must see and things to avoid. :dunno:

The Woodworker's emporium is the whole deal so far as I know. Not much different from Rockler. If you have a car, wanna drive an hour west and I'll show you a 'real' shop, with stuff for sale, as I downsize into a motorhome with shop trailer?

Thanks Vaughn I already had my eye on that place but was looking to see if it was worth checking out. Thanks for the offer Carol Yes we will have a car and i would love to see the shop. An hr west I will have to talk with Janet about it but it is do able. Where exactly?

Can't guess why but I bet they have more pawn shops than any other city in the states. I haven't been there for years and years. Like to go again. There is lots to see even if you don't gamble. It worth taking a trip out to the dam also.

Las Vegas is someplace I never get sick of. Probably been at least 18-20 times. Mostly for work but 7 or 8 times for vacation. I don't drink much and break out in a sweat if I lose more than $20.00 in the casinos  There is just so much to see and do. Tons and tons of pawn shops.

We are going on the 30th for a week ( doing haloween there). Planning on a trip to the Dam and do some of the rides on the strip as well as Fremont st. We want to see the atomic testing museum, the neon museum, the Liberace museum, the car museum... As well Janet has been on line checking lots of other things to do and see as we only have a week.

well back from Vegas and what a trip. Saw as much as we could see in a week and didn`t get to do everything ( surprise surprise) did almost all the hotels and the strip. was able to see the Halloween parade and Freemont street. Quite the scene and crowd. Went down to the Hoover dam and that was to me a highlight. Also did the Red Rock canyon twice. Stopped in the Ricks restoration and actually met Rick and Kelly (great down to earth couple) Love their show. It was a whirl wind trip and took close to 4000 pictures ( between Janet and myself). All in all a great trip. spent time in at Costco in Henderson and was rear ended in the rental car ( light tap at intersection). Vegas is nice but just glad that we were able to get out of the city and away from all the noise and the smells. far too many people still smoke in casinos ( something that is almost totally banned here in BC) and the coconut smell that seems to be pumped into all the casinos. Oh and No I didn`t play one machine ( not a gambler) Saw some of the filming of a new movie ``hangover 3 ``And man did we walk lots. Stopped in at the wood working store and found that the prices are not much better than they are here for lots of the tools.
