Walnut base with "antiqued" maple uprights (all from the scrap heap) and an old sewing machine motor (not convinced on the paint job but its done so there it is). The motor has the foot pedal so allows variable speed/easy stop start. The shaft runs on pressed in bushings and was hand filed to a bit of a bevel on the long part to fit the use case.

The "front" (or really the back but this is the way it walks so in my mind its the front even though in use its the back).

Harder to get that curl so I was happy with it than I had figured. Started out with just a "lump" on the end, but didn't think it looked good enough so out came the chisels :D

Pulley was turned, press fit and then re-turned. Actually has some of the nicest wood but you can't see it  It self centers pretty well the belt offset is just from me manhandling it around.

A hint - its ready for use.
