small eucalyptus with Dead Finish collar

We have a couple of visitors coming for a BBQ weather pemitting from Canada and thought it might be nice to give a small and easy to carry souvineer from Oz. So rummaged around and came up with this little piece of Euc Burl from Tasmania 4" dia or 100mm finished with several coats of DO and left to dry.

I really like the "earthy" wood objects. They just make you want to reach out and touch them.

Your Canadian friends are lucky to get a piece like this.

    Enjoy,

I love Sydney already, but if a piece like that came with each visit, I'd be there several times a year. Heck, I'd even eat BBQ in the rain for a piece like that. Great work, Hughie. Your friends will surely be very pleased.
