    Mule Deer painting

    Do you like Mulies ?

I started this one Sunday. I have a bit of tweaking to do to the body and head. I sat down and sketched this out in about an hour so it's not spot on. But will be. The painting is 18X24" the photo is 8x9"

I hope you all enjoy this one. I've been thinking of this for some time now. I am not a Mule Deer fan to hunt but this guy has a look about him.

I worked on the body last night. I saw a retina specialist yesterday and I'm having problems with perception. After I put this up and looked at it I saw the nose was off a bit. I'll repair that this evening and begin the lighter coloring on him.

I dream a lot. I do more painting when I'm not painting. It's in the subconscious.

Was able to get a full day at the easel yesterday, Considering that the Skins / Raven's game was on it was raining so the bike stayed in the shop, I did get a lot done.

Well In the Lion painting I hit a few stubbing blocks and I am at that place with the Muley . One great thing has happened , my wife is getting interested in my paintings now. I think she was sitting back and seeing if I was going to stick with painting. I do so many things that I leave them after I get satisfied. But it seems my desire is only growing to paint.

Looking good Dave. I've got the same habit of trying new things, getting really involved, then moving on after a while.
