    Spalted Hackberry

On a Titanium gold 8mm Round Top Euro.
I like to under turn the tenon to show a bit of the Gold Twist Holder Flange rather than hiding in behind the center band.
Sanded to 400x, buffed with extra fine steel wool and applied 6 costs of MINWAX OMWB Polyurethane.

Spalted Hackberry is one of my most favorite woods to turn... recently got hold of about 1/2 a large tree that was knocked down in a wind storm... part of it lay in the field on wet ground and really got some nice spalting...

oops, hit enter before I finished my statement.... love the pen Les....

    Very fine pens.
I like hackberry also. Have made duck calls from it. The wood takes a nice finish with lots of chatoyance.
