Stake cutter

Randy. Have you eyeballed Woodmizers shake shingle attachment?

You could make a similiar setup.

Shingle maker

Hi Steve, I have a norwood shingle jig for my mill. I have never used it yet. I can cut 4 per pass. Raise it, make a pass, lower it make a pass, raise it make a pass. It's pretty cool but like I said I have never used it yet.

Cool :thumb:

I was thinking maybe of ganging several blanks on it, cutting the taper.

But it might not be a steep enough of an angle.

Shingles are what, 3-4 degrees? Can't remember.

Does yours have regular pipe clamps to hold the shingle blocks?

no pipe clamps

Hi Steve, My shingle jig just has 2 set screws per jig. You just snug them up against the blocks of wood and cut. I don't think that would cut enough angle for you. When you raise the jig it only comes up about 1 1/4 inch once you make that cut you let the jig down again for the next cut. I would say it's no more than 6 degrees of angle. The shingles are 1/2 inch at the thick end down to a 16th of an inch at the thin end.
