    a couple of pen blanks

Here's a couple of pen blanks I found hiding in a hunk of spalted maple. If only the pictures could do them justice!

Wowsers! That's some pretty stuff. Should make some nice pens indeed.

Very pretty. Spalts can present problems when turning. Can we say "blow up" boys and girls?
If you would like them stabilized I'll do for you at no charge except cost of shipping back to you.

You better send those to me for stabilizing John...I wouldn't trust them to anyone else
I'd seal and dry 'em...they have a tendency to curve...a lot! DAMHIKT

Very pretty wood, for sure. If you have it, I'd be tempted to cut some bottle stopper size and maybe pepper mills, and small turned boxes or bird houses. Great looking stuff.

I have never tried to stable wet wood. Wood rather not risk it.
