    Patchwork Quilt

    Kallenshaan Laser Cut Inlay kit made with 8 different pieces of laser cut dyed BEB on a Gold and Black Sierra.
    Sanded to 400x, buffed with extra fine steel wool, burnished with turned wood shavings and applied 6 coats of MINWAX Satin OMWB Polyurethane.

    Beautiful Les. That really sets off the black and gold. Sierra's are my favorite pen to turn. Bob I get my Sierra's from Berea Hardwoods.

    I get my pen kits from either William Wood-Write, Lee Valley, CSUSA, KMS Tools, Arizona Silhouette, Bear Tooth Woods or Exoticblanks.

    That's pretty spiffy Les! A question...I hear the term "burnishing" a lot. What does it do?

    Jim,

    I find that burnishing heats up the wood a bit to close the pores and polishes to a really smooth surface.
