so why didnt I listen to her.(when you have a 65 y/o house, you dont look into places you really dont want to see)

I ripped open the attic wall and discovered the previous owner vented a dryer into the attic, noticed a piece of dryer hose left in there, and also unpatched hole left on the inside for the hose.

I never should have opened this up.

I could have spent the winter cleaning out the shop, making pens, maybe go visit my sisters and brother in florida, maybe head off for a few days of anything but this.

I have to go start cleaning it out, vacuuming out all the dust, clean up the old insulation, add some insulation, and then seal it up from the cold while my wife decides if she wants drawers or cabinets.

I still have to plaster and paint. I hate this stuff. (at least Ill get to build some cabinets eventually)

did I mention I really hate this type of stuff?

(funny though, I shoved a box of clay birds back there in the dark from the other side 25 years ago, never knew where I put them)

yeah, it was kinda nice for me you sharing that thread and dave drawing up some attic storage the same week Im working on the attic office

my wife had the day off for MLK day, so shes out with the girls at the racino.(ya gotta love her though. she made sure I had a big salad and some turkey on whole wheat, while she is enjoying a lunch buffetat the casino)
Im waiting on her to get home so she can tell me if that 60 inches of space is enough for the cabs she wants in there, or should I rip out another 2x4 and open it up wider.(we have 10 feet of wall, and I can go probably 9 feet comfortably for myself, but Id rather keep it 5 feet as it is, less work, less headaches)

and to be real here, this is not work for a late fifties overweight person with arthritis and other disabilities.
My knees are so shot(20 years of tennis on cement courts), I cant do the normal bending required to work on low areas like this, so Im on the floor alot.
Im not sure if Im going to do the upstairs bedroom after this. I think its time in my life I just hire people and not be so critical.

Ive enlisted my son to come here saturday to move wires around and help me install(no not help me, hes doing all the work, Im just cutting laminate) the floor.

Im hoping I have it painted by then.

Im trying to make a wood list,(sheets), but my wife changes her mind daily, so I havent purchased anything but paint to continue, gonna be a long winter.

I just tell Norma the longer she takes to make up her mind the longer it will take for me to get finished! Seems to work as once I start she has not once made changes on the projects I've built for her.
