    Maple Burl Bowl

I posted this a while back on another forum. I bought this burl from a gentleman at our local flea market here in east mountains. He makes NE tables out of local wood and after talking to him for a while he mentioned he had a bunch of burls he had no use for. So, $20 later, here it is. He thought it would be neat to leave a few spikes on it so I did. I gave it to him to bribe my way into his sawmill....and it work. Obviously taken before I had my photo gradient.

I think the technical term for that kind of piece is "knucklebuster". That's sure a sweet piece of wood for $20. Well done.

That is a beauty Nate. I like the rustic look of it. Wood is beautiful.

Love the maple burl wood... it's outstanding --- as is the design.... Like Vaughn said tho, that's a real knuckle buster... if I had done that I'm sure by now I would be missing at least 3 or 4 of my knuckles by now... outstanding job.
