    Old Georgetown High Fire place mantel

    Pick this up last week. The owner torched the paint off and , lets just say made some dark marks.





    So after stripping and some gilding , it's going back together.

    Are the finales/caps on the posts plaster? Looks like you gold leafed them? Got some pretty wood on them.

    The capitals are a composite plaster and molded to a round post,
    already but the top on so I can not show that. Sorry.

    Oh man, that looks like a lot of work, but it's amazing what you can rescue. Stuff I would have thought was headed for the scrap heap.
