    New Chuck Gloat

When I bought the Nichols lathe, I found the spindle size to be 1 1/2"x8. All my G-3's were 1 1/4x8 and it seems, the "stock" thread for the chuck was M33, which apparently is the metric equivalent to 1 1/2"x8. The lathe came with a Vicmarc VM-120, which is an absolute monster. So, I donated my G3s to our turning club for their demo lathes and bought a new VM-120. Now I need to get it dirty.

Very cool. That chuck's a hoss for sure. Congrats!

I wish the ABQ turning club didn't meet so doggone early in the morning. One of these days I want to make it to a meeting, but I don't do mornings very well, especially on weekends.

Maybe we need to start our own "Saturday Afternoon Turning, Burning and Social Club".
