    Tongue and grooves

Ok I have this sheet of 3/4 ply with a plastic laminate installed. 64" x 26" I want a 1/4 tongue around the perimeter. Working by myself it will be somewhat difficult to guide this piece over the table saw. I have no wings or out feed table. I have a bench I could press into temporary service for wings or out feed.
Could I successfully use a rabbit router bit to make the tongue even with the laminate? Or will the laminate chip? Or should I buckle and ask for help holding and guiding the top through the saw?

    thanks

+1 on a router, cover the surface with blue painters tape to help minimize chip out.
