    we lost an historic company yesterday to fire. the cheesborouh rake factory was over 150 years old and still made rakes the same way they did back then. always welcoming people in to see the old processes. some things cant be replaced and this was one.

    Sad. I hope they can rebuild or find another local building to operate in. I wonder if they had specialized equipment that can't be easily replaced.

    all of the equipment was steem engine driven and is irreplaceable. Im just glad i was able to tour this facility when it was with us.
    side note they supplied golf courses with the old style wooden tooth rakes for sand pits.

    been by it many times and never went in was on my list to go and see but i quess not now,, was it owned by yoders yet?

    That is a bummer, maybe they will be able to salvage some of the equipment and rebuild it. We've got an old mill down here that used to be steam powered, they've turned it into a museum, but my brother says they do run it from time to time, mostly during events to show it off.
