    trying my hand at casting

    I had some buckeye burl pieces laying around and decided to try my hand at casting. Here's the results.

    In the pen world, we call that WW (Worthless Wood) casting John...you done great!! Now lets see what kind of pen you get out of it! Share the process if you would sir...they vary from peep to peep and it's always fun to get a feeling for what someone else is doing!

    First I stabilized/dyed the buckeye blank blue. Then I cast the blank using alumilite in a pressure pot at 60 PSI.
