Here is a couple pics of the Elm Urn I posted a WIP thread on a while ago. Should have made the base a bit smaller and had some bad cracking due to trying to figure out how to dry wood in 6% humidity. 19"x10". Thanks for looking.
Very nice, Nate. Was that wood hard cutting when dried? The elm I've turned wasn't too bad when green, but it was harder than woodpecker lips when dry. Hard to cut, and it are tool edges very quickly.
Jim, finish is Dr Workshop Walnut Oil and Carnuba Wax burnished in.
Vaughn, the wood was crazy hard to cut dry. I made a lot of trips to the grinder. Sanding wasn't that bad though, I use Abralon pads and am very happy with them.
