Shopbot uses crowd funding to get the next generation of tool out

Neat tool. Have drawn up a portable cnc like that to build, just never got around to it. Would be kind of cool to be able to attach it a completed piece, like a table and have it do some inlays and such.

Totally missed that MakerFaire this last weekend, a co-worker went and said they had a lot of cool stuff, everyone had a 3d printer. Also had the show of the 200 bottles of coke and mentos. The guy said he did the youtube on it for fun, the next day he had 4,000 views. Wasn't long and they were giving up their day jobs to go on tour with the MakerFaire to do the demos of it.

Vaughn from what i heard in one of the videos and saw on the Kickstarter site $2500 is the target point.

The range of markets that could be reached with this is phenomenal. Could be a quick payback in my view. Mind boggles as to applications. Certainly opens up the school cnc education market from a cost point of view.

Or portable sign making with a difference. Going to be real interesting to see its adoption. Real American ingenuity.
