Radial Arm Saw Blade Brake

The pictures pretty much explain it all I think.

My old red star radial arm saw will spin a 12" cross cut blade for about 5 minutes.

So I put a brake on it. Just orded the cheapest little bicycle caliper, cable, and handle set I could find.

Literally took me about 10 minutes to rig this up as a test. Works so good like this I'm not sure I'll make any changes, except to maybe move the brake handle a little farther back on the right hand side of the saw.

Thanks guys, Just seemed like the obvious solution, well, other than jamming a piece of scrap wood in the blade every time....;)
