    Turning hemlock

    Has anyone here turned hemlock? A friend of mine took down several trees that are over 18" in dia so are they wirth taking.

    It's a hard softwood, similar to pine. May be prone to tearout. And if you get it with fresh needles on it, you can make a tasty bush tea. (Seriously, I've made it and drank it. It's the deciduous Hemlock that did in Socrates.)

    Scary. I would research the poisonous qualities of the tree first.
