This is a maple tea set I just finished yesterday. The platter is a nice piece I swaped some cherry burl, and a piece of oak burl for, just to have a nice chunk for this. The rest was just some ugly silver maple with them gray stains, so that's one reason I dyed it. The finial is to give it that Asian look, or at least that was my thought. The pot is about 6 x 5 and the platter is 11 x 1 1/2.

Thanks all. It was kind of a fun thing to do at the time, but I have way to many hrs into it. Living out here in the sticks, i'm sure I woun't get half of what I have into it. O well it's all for fun any way.

Dang Steve, you keep out-doing yourself over and over. This is a beautiful set. Keep this up and you might have to drop that whole "Gee, shucks, I'm just a country boy out in the sticks" thing.

Mighty fine pieces and complete set!

I'm kinda familiar with that "country boy" thing. Born on the bayou, a forty acre farm though. Baby sitting a hundred acre farm a long ways from anywhere now. It's a rough life but somebody has to do it.
