My first try at this

This is the sequel to my shorts problem. No wisecracks please. Not having enough cash on hand to build the shorts cart I wanted to, I decided to use some of them up by making my first cutting boards.

A mix of maple, Brazilian Cherry, American cherry, walnuts, and a mystery wood or two, I have been able to use a good portion of my shorts for something that might even be profitable.

More pictures to follow as I get them completed and oiled.

Looking great! I watched this little video yesterday, and I noticed the once the guy applied glue to the strips and stacked together, he also poured clue over the surface of the stack. Why would he do that??

Maybe he had some silly idea like making sure the glue got into all the cracks. :dunno:

Oh I could make them much crookeder than that. Of course the glue joints would be rather wide and irregular.

Now that I've watched the video, it looks to me like he was mixing sawdust and glue to fill cracks in his joints. Shouldn't be any cracks if he'd done it right.
