A reminder to take time now and then for routine maintenance. I was overdue on checking the gear oil on my planer. I assumed I might have to top it off just a bit but, it was down quite a bit relative to the reservoir size. The planer does not leak oil per-se. There is a film which appears around the seals and gets covered in sawdust which gets removed through use of the machine. No puddles, no drips to wipe away. It is not enough that I would break the gearbox down to replace the seals but, I do try to check it 2 - 3 times per year. Take care of your machines and enjoy them for a long, long time.
