Meeting Jarrod early at the shop and heading down to the Pentagon. He's taking the van to stay and work on the exterior doors and I'm following on the bike and them meeting up with the contractor on the job and heading to Bike week in Ocean City Md. For the weekend. Picks will follow.

Have a couple of guitar remodeling jobs for the weekend. One of them is discussed here:

The other project is going to leave this guitar looking pretty much the same (except the amber knobs will be replaced with black ones), but it will change the way it sounds:

[Warning: Guitar geek talk ahead]

This is a Washburn/Oscar Schmidt Delta King (ES-335 knockoff with a bolt-on neck). I bought it new for about $200 several years ago. The guitar itself is impressive, especially considering the price, but the pickups have always been pretty disappointing. Now it's getting all new pickups, pots, switch, jack, and wiring. I'm gutting it and starting from scratch. Replacing the factory pickups with some inexpensive but well-reviewed imports - the Dragonfire Vintage Humbuckers - with coil splitter switches in the tone pots to switch from humbucking to single coil. All the other components are high-quality parts from StewMac to replace the cheap Asian stuff it came with. The rewiring is pretty straightforward, but I'm not looking forward to fishing all the components into place through the f-holes.

Tell me you're not driving the bike over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge :eek::eek::eek: I can't do it in a car. I've driven up to the top of Delaware and back down just to avoid it

Today is the final button down on the 16' trailer for the move on Sunday. Also have to load the motorcycle and get that load ready. Pick up truck from diesel mechanic this morning (in for routine service), get tire on spare wheel which should be here today. Trailer lights and brakes working. New weight distribution and sway control installed. Tools (for this move) packed. By Saturday night I need the bubbatruck and 16' cargo trailer and the car and motorcycle with its trailer ready to rumble on Sunday afternoon after church. In between are two meetings (this afternoon and evening), prep for one service (tomorrow afternoon/evening), one church service, and one confirmation brunch right after church. Friend and I hope to be on the road before 2 PM. Arrival in Strawberry, AZ after midnight. Then 2 days to get things ready on that end for the final move at the end of the month. Back here on Wednesday. Pix later. Next month: work on Putter Palace more than an hour or two a couple times a week. WooHoo!

Quiet night tonight with the girl as the wife is taking our nephew out for dinner and a few drinks to celebrate his 21st that was back in July but he hasn't been in town until now. Tomorrow we have our neighborhood's http://www.fallfestival.org/ so we will be up early to get a spot for the 2hr long parade, Should be in the mid 60s when it starts...can't wait! Then the girl gets to ride some rides, eat to much sugar and bounce off the walls until we go to my BIL and SIL's house to watch the Iowa v IA State football game. Sunday will be yard cleanup and some shop time after the Packers game. Go Pack Go!

Nothing really planned for tonight, but need to get in some time on the dresser. Tomorrow afternoon/evening we're spending with my brother. I bought tickets to a local wine maker's tasting at the place my wife and I got married. Should be interesting to see how the place has changed in the past 16 years. Sunday will be working on walls and the dresser, but need to get the basement ready for new flooring too.

Lots of early fall yard and farm jobs. Continuing the progression of orderliness in the shop and soon may be able to produce something:thumb:
And......getting ready for a little roadtrip;)
Enjoy your weekend everyone:wave:

Trying to find a local concrete guy to pour me a slab for a new shed so i can get some of the extra stuff out of the shop/garage. Must be too small a job...no call backs yet

Friday: LOML and I got a pot of vegetable beef soup started this morning. I'll work on a commission - book stand and candle holders for a neighbor's church - this afternoon.

Saturday: A little shop time early in the day. Friends are coming over later for a visit.

Sunday: We'll have a quick start to the day because LOML needs to drive over to her mother's near Birmingham. Her mother's husband is having surgery first thing Monday. Her mother needs help for a few days, so Bobbie volunteered to drive over since there's no other family close by.

Well I got a trailer to clean, set of shelves to make for myself for my office and today while out I picked up a nice 4ft x9 inch x 4 inch piece of Basswood. So I got to think about how I want to use it. :)

Also going to build some additional shelving for my office to get a bit better organized.

Then I got parts I picked up in the US for Lindas Dodge Caravan and along with those that Larry brought me I got some mechanics work to do on the Dodge.

We picked up some fresh Florida red snapper from the new fishmonger nearby so we gonna steam it in my Asian steamer and have that for dinner. We now getting some great wild fresh seafood from US these days. First time I have seen wild Florida shrimp fresh here ever. I could eat fish 7 days a week if I had my way especially if its fresh.

Enjoy the weekend everyone looks to be a nice cool one for working.

For me I'm going to put the final touches on these 4 roll around tool cabinets so I can deliver them. Then I need to go over the escort to get it ready for my coming trip.
