Decided to make a coping saw. There are some refinements I'd like to make at some time, but it seems to work quite well. It sure tensions the blade nicely!

Thanks Tod! It seems to work pretty well. I need to see it I have a piece of crown to try it out on, but I have only made one quick cut so far. I have a couple crown/base/chair rail jobs coming up and I'll really get a chance to put it through some paces then! If it doesn't perform as needed, at least it'll look nice on the wall!

Great piece of work Ed. Good work on the shaping. I'll bet it works well, too.

Are the hardware parts easily available?

Thanks Jesse, the tensioning rod and blade holders are 1/4" steel rod. I cut the slots with a jigsaw and cut the threads with a 1/4-20 die, then applied gun bluing to the steel. The acorns and wing nut are from the borg. There is a brass ferrule on the handle that are for air hose fittings.
