Don't fence me in

Don't you get frost heave in your area? Up here with us one needs to get down 3 or more feet to beat the frost heave. You should see the fences where people have bought houses with intention of selling and so cheaped out on their cheap contractors fence. Don't take more than one year to have them heaving and leaning.

But I guess at lower line of latitude you got shallow frost or what?

The fence at my old place we had done with 6x6 posts and 4ft down in the ground.

Frost depth here is a max of 24". I'm taking a bit of a chance, but should be OK through all but the most brutal of winters.
