Does this look like a good deal?

I just saw this on Kijiji. It says it has never been used, and I don't know whether a brand new Craftsman lathe is a good deal at $300. If this will do a decent job of turning, I might grab it.

    Thanks, guys!
    Cheers,

I had that lathe. It is a decent lathe, but the maintenance on the Reeves drive will ultimately frustrate you and you will most likely want to replace it. Do a few web searches for "Sears lathe reeves drive" and similar phrases to see how many people have had problems with it.

Run don't walk to your nearest Kijiji exit don't buy it to many problems.

I have some of the older Craftsman tools purchased & used by my Dad when they were still Craftsman tools. Now it would be spelled closer to Crapsman for some of their tools now days & we get the honor of trying them out to find out which ones are Craftsman & which are Crapsman.
