Carbon fiber casting I picked up in a swap a while back...not thrilled with the cut ends, but it works over all. Next is a blank also from a swap cast from wood shavings from the pen I received. Last but not least magnum bullet with stabilized buckeye burl and some worm holes filled with turquoise. On reflection, I'd rather have used gold Pearl-ex to highlight the yellow in the blank. Thanks for looking!

How do you fill the hole with turquoise ??

I have 2 kinds Bob...crushed and powder. These are 1/16" holes, to big for the crush. Just rotate the spindle until the hole is facing up, tap in a little powder so it's well above the surface and add a drop of thin CA. Turquoise is hard as a rock, pardon the pun and very hard on tools so I revert back to a carbide cutter to level it out. Repeat if necessary and finish as desired.

Good-looking pens there, bud. :thumb:

Les, I think the size issue is because the pics are loaded directly from Jim's phone via Tapatalk. They fit if the monitor resolution is higher than the 1280 pixel width of the photos.
