Our counter tops are always too crowded to hold a recipe, so I am always loosing the darn thing in the clutter. Here's my simple solution.
Cabinet over prep area:
Rare earth magnet CA glued to back of cabinet door:
Now a small magnet on the outside of the door holds the elusive recipe, right at eye level:
Ta da!!
Ha!! Great minds think a like! We have a steel range hood and fridge doors. I hate leaving a recipe book next to the stove when we cook so I came up with this last week. RE glued into a drilled hole in a cork.
I did a similar thing in our kitchen. I tool a small sheet of steel, painted it with blackboard paint and used a little hot glue to attach it to the back of a cabinet.
I made a couple of racks to hold measuring cups and spoons and used RE magnets to hold those to the back of the door. I also use it to store some common little reference cheat sheets I made.
On the front, I've now got a pretty good area to use for putting recipes on.
Now all I need to do is make some handy little grabbers, like either corks, or some kind of turned cover for the magnets.
