    Eucalyptus Burl hollow vessel

The latest one off the lathe. A small hollow vessel with spirals and a hardwood collar Belyando Blackwood ,Acacia argyrodendron. 15 spirals finished with satin WOP and buffed stands about 6" tall . Took awhile to finish due to wet or humid weather effecting the drying as I used BLO to bring out the colour and it ages to dry.

15 spirals....you are a patient man! It sure came out great, so the effort was well worth it. Thanks for sharing.

    Another beauty, Hughie. Gorgeous piece.

Was that eucalyptus burl very hard? I've turned some that was pretty soft, and some that was harder than woodpecker lips.

Wow, that's beautiful, Hughie! I love how the natural voids in the wood also give the spirals that added elegance of a true piece of art. And that's what you have there, not a wood turning, a piece of art!
