15hp should do an ok job at resawing…

What kind of mobile base do you figure it would take for that beast?

They are still making them in Minnesota to this day last I checked. Base price around $15,000. Doesn't look like they have changed anything in 50 years. I have no idea how it stacks up to the modern Euro saws of equal size, having never worked on one, but they are twice the price. Cool looking, too... Check out their table saws! too.

As far as Northfield Machinery goes all I can say is I have the 8" jointer using it constantly, can't say enough good things about it or it's brother in the back. The shapers, I am not yet using but they are awesome too, powerful work horses. All elderly giants, but made for production and longevity.
