Doing more of these to get my mojo back and I want to do many so I have my technique and my methods down to show how I do them.

3-1/2" square Sakura with inclusions.

Finished with just a coat of sanding sealer for now, I'll be putting some lacquer on at some point.

Cheers!

Years ago, when I got my "real" lathe, I heard the term "square bowl" and figured it was something like this.

Don't look at the tear out or thick sides... I was just learning to use the new tools! But this is what I think of as a square bowl.

Yep, I did some like that a while back Charlie, they are fun, but no one seemed to like them, they really like the basic ones I do

And if it will hold Ice cream or M&Ms its a bowl! :D

I did not get any turning done today, I had to work, several events going on so we were busy, but I did make the time to dig through my scrap bin and pull out some wood to glue up some blanks for turning toothpick holders. Also quite a few more square bowls.

That should give me lots of practice.
