Anyone have the Delta 46 460 Lathe?

I've had mine for a while (maybe 4 years). I have switched the belt for different speed ranges probably no more than 10 times in all the while I have had it. It normally sets in the mid range. Recently I have wanted to switch speed ranges and find the dilly-bob lever won't budge the motor to lift it so I can move the belt. I have to reach under the lathe and lift the motor while pushing the lever down. I'm thinking I probably can fix it by removing the motor and cleaning up the mechanism so it will slide easier. Before going to the trouble, I thought I'd ask is anyone has had this problem and if so what is the fix?

Never mine, fixed. Loosen the nut a tiny bit, little cleaning and lubing.

Actually I didn't get the book out. It just looked like the most obvious thing.
