Goin' to Philadelphia...

I'm leaving Wednesday morning to fly to Philly by way of Detroit. These airline routes kill me. I've made a list of the things I need to pick up at Penn State, and I'm going to HD to get a chainsaw at about $30 less than I'll pay in Canada. Besides that, I get to see my wonderful niece, who is visiting her dad this weekend. Going to see my brother is always a good, relaxing trip. Only spending about $300 on tools this trip, but I'm on a fixed income, eh? :D

wait... Detroit!? couldn't you fly Buffalo->Philly ??? Driving to Detroit is like more than halfway to driving to Philly, isn't it?

I know, I know, your first sentence means you've had this same thought. Have a fun trip!

It (chainsaw) should if I take it out of the box and take the bar off. Or I could pay extra and put the box on as checked baggage. I also have to bring back two #4 planes that I bought on eBay and had shipped to my brother. Coming back is always a challenge.

If there's even a whiff of fuel about that chainsaw, the airline will likely refuse to take it.

BTW, HD's selection of chainsaws isn't that great. You'd be better off going to a Stihl, Echo, or Husqvarna dealer and buying a good one. It'll cost more, but it'll be a much better saw.

It's an electric chainsaw, as I don't need much. It will handle the very light, occasional cutting that I have. I don't have a fireplace or much in the way of trees around the hacienda. Thanks for the advice. I can just hear the baggage checker; "Hey! I smell electricity, you can't go on the plane with this thing!"

Allen, if we go downtown, I'll ask my brother about that place. What kind of beer would GW have been drinking?

I don't drink alcohol, but we were there with a large party of around 20, we had the entire upstairs room, and they serve quite a large array of beer on tap, seemed most adults were happy.
it was actually moved something like 15 feet because of street building or something like that. its still the same original building.
interesting, decent food, very pricey.(I didn't pay)
theres tons of restaurants on market where youre going. Ill be 45 minutes away at the jersey shore and casinos.

I will second, third and fourth that. I have had and used my Husqvarna more years (trouble free by the way) than all of my other saws combined.

Enjoy your trip and threaten to cut a hole in the cabin if the airline gives you any trouble.
