Usually I use the 2D DXF files they offer but in this case a 3D version might be easier. You have to have the pro version of SketchUp to import DXF files but there's an STL importer/exporter available through the Extension Warehouse. In any case you'll have a ton of clean up work before that leg is useful. The JPG could be imported and you could then trace it.

I use 3D at work as well as at home. My vote is on the STL. I will admit I have never tried the 3D.DXF format on 3D stuff. I have imported/exported 2D vector with DXF for years.

I am not a sketchup user but I do know it works well with STL.

The JPG is a bitmap image and not what you want. The standard DXF - is a 2D vector and not what you want. Leaves only 2 choices.

But as I wrote, the 3D DXF mesh and the STL will require a whole lot of clean up before they would be usable. The 2D DXF would be easier to use with the pro version and the JPG would be easiest to use with the free version of SketchUp.
