Star Spangled Banner For the 4th of July

It seems that they get some pretty bad reditions of the National Anthem at sporting events these days. (I think it started with Rosanne Barr)

Anyone familiar with Southern Gospel music, know of the Gaither Vocal Band, this is how it should be done!

Bill Gaither is the one on the left.

    Amen, brother, amen!

Some say the land of milk and honey; others say the land of fruits and nuts. All together my sort of heaven.

Power is not taken. It is given. Who have you given yours to? Hmmmm?

I've heard then before and they are fantastic.

At times people look at me a little strangely. No matter where I am or what I'm doing I always stand for the National Anthum.

This lady still makes me stand a little prouder though

Both of the renditions posted are good examples. Strange as it may sound, I recall a number of years ago when the Smothers Brothers were being interviewed before an event at which they were chosen to perform the National Anthem. When asked about the length of their performance, the response was "36 seconds". They explained further that the performance should be about honoring our nation and not the performer. Sung as it should be, that's how long the National Anthem will take.

In case you missed it, the following was the Anthem prior to the Super Bowl this year. I was totally choked up on this one.
