My wife has an old antique glass candle holder that has lots of wax dripped on it. She wants the wax removed and I'm not sure of a way to to it. To scrape it off will take me a year! I've though of using a heat gun, but is I crack the thing, I'm dead meat!!! Any suggestions?

How about setting it in a pan and pour hot water over it. Hot enough to soften the was but not melt it. Pull off what you can. Once you get close to the glass soak it in mineral spirits.

Thanks for the reply, Terry. It turned out to be even simpler than that. I got out my trusty HF heat gun. Using the low heat, I melted the wax, which ran off unto a piece of cardboard I set the candle holder on. The cardboard soaked up the wax as it ran off. Then I used a cloth to wipe any residue off. Took me about 5 minutes and I had been putting off the task for two days!!
