A Little Table for My Sailboat

I sketched this out yesterday afternoon. It's a fold down table for my sailboat. The plan is to mount this on the rail at the front of the steering pedestal. The white table is a thing I scavenged off of an old anesthesia machine. The folding mechanism is built in so that part's easy. I'm working out how tall to make the cup holder thingummys. I started machining the wood yesterday. The pieces I show as mahogany will be teak and the lighter colored pieces will be cherry which should darken to a nice red in the sun.

Wow, that really rendered realistically. Looks like a fun project.

Darren, it kind of surprised me how realistic it looks, too. I think it should be a fun project and we certainly can use it.

Now if you could lower the table to seat level and leave the cup holders as arm rests, I'd know where I sit cruising with you

& add another kudos on the realism in your artwork!

    Thanks Ken.

I don't know if that would be the best place to sit. I think you'd be better off on the stern seat. Cool idea, though.

I was concerned about ballast, with me in the stern, seeing over the bow could be a challenge

I see. I think there's about 6500 lbs of lead in the keel. Ought to be alright.

Add me to the "I can't believe that's not a photograph" crowd. Cool design and awesome rendering, Dave.
