You are always welcome. Let us know or pm me and we can work out details.

If you're coming across I-80, I'm just a couple miles off Exit 223 in Ohio. I'm about 5 hours away from Larry's, so approximately halfway 'twixt you and him. Stop by to see the mess I call a shop!

Allen, I can attest to the hospitality of several of those above. Take advantage of it you will not be disappointed. They are great people.

Hey, Allen! If you really want to get enlightened, a good Yankee like you should come to south Georgia! You might like it so much you won't even consider driving back north!!! After all, you can't get ham hocks, pig feet and chittlins everywhere you go!!!!!

after speaking with elen today(the wife), seems she will be able to make the trip with me as long as all is well.
we plan on leaving sept 18th, from long island.
in the coming weeks Ill contact some people to see if they have a hour or two to spare and wouldn't mind saying hello.
Larry/Randi, elen is going to visit Randi, so Im hoping they are around that Saturday, or if need be, we can make it sunday there.
We know its a tough time of year for people, with school starting, people work, but its our only time before the weather changes and I want to take the little car and enjoy the trip. Maybe hit some casinos, some places of interest, museums, don't know yet, we aren't going to make any set plans.

Just about everything is West of Allen, Jim!

as far as Im concerned, anything west of Pittsburgh is the wild wild west. I scoped it out a few years ago when I went to larry to see if they have paved roads out there.

this isn't a tour de wood thing, Im not stepping in larrys shoes, I couldn't fill them, its just we needed a change of scenery, wasn't sure if wed go north to montreal, south to Washington, or a bit west. Im not the driver anymore, and neither is my wife.
Im not looking to push myself to drive 8-10 hours a day, Id be totally miserable, driving or not, just being in the car.
I plan on leaving weds evening after dinner just to get out of NY traffic so Thursday morning I can head to Cleveland to stop in the rock and roll hall of fame.
Probably stay nearby there or close by, and move on Friday to Michigan to visit larry, and hopefully tom will be around. Since my wife loves Randi, stay there Saturday also, and move on south sunday morning to head over to my favorite Indiana resident, actually, the only person I know that lives in Indiana. Head back Monday morning, want to be home by weds afternoon, but stop later Monday over at Jims house to say hi.
Im not looking for anyone to go out of their way for us. We don't need to be fed or bed down for the night, its our vacation, road trip, there are things we will do, like we love to casino hop.
I will be in the tiny car, so I wont be schlepping anything along with us except our clothes.
I do look forward to anyone whos is somewhat along this route and would like to spend an hour or so meeting up.
no worries, we aren't looking for rooms, just to meet up if anyone is around.

my wife 100% is off from work, she informed her boss yesterday shes taking off, so she is the copilot.

that's a bit past my comfort zone for driving. I like to stick within 8-10 hours for a two day drive. Not having to drive more than 4-6 hours a day.
for me, after that, its not a vacation, it becomes a chore.

That pretty much rules out a visit to the Southwest, huh? :D I understand your sentiments about long drives. ;)

Rest assured, if and when I ever get out to your part of the country, I'll be looking you up and expecting a pizza expedition at the very least. :)

Don't rule it out Allen.
You could take the Nova Star, an overnight cruise to an exotic foreign land just over the horizon from Brooklyn. Casino on board. :)
