Hi All Carvers,

I saw Toni from Spain stop in and post on Roys thread here

http://familywoodworking.org/forums/showthread.php?33845-Part-of-a-larger-Carving

Then i thought about an issue that bugs me no end about forums as a rule. A new member Roy joins and chances are unless we take a moment to do the introductions like i am doing he may never know about what has gone before specifically because of the way forums are organized or threads located or what have you.

So Roy i would like to have you meet Toni but through his work. I dont see Toni bringing up his old threads so i will do it for him to give other carvers and you Roy and bit of a taste for what lies in the past posts here.

This is a tool panel mural that Toni carved, it never ceases to blow me away each time i look at the thread.

Then there is Tonis Dove he did for Don

and of course the Autum leaves

I been thinking its something us mods should be spending a bit of time doing to help expose a new member or new members to what lies in our database so as to facilitate introduction to other existing members of the family. That is where my memory serves me to remember the items.

Given we never has a carving forum how else would Roy (as a relatively new member with a carving interest) have known of the existence of these posts if we don't do the honors.

My apologies to any other carvers i have offended by not listing their work, this is only what i specifically can remember, perhaps we can build a bigger forum by moving the threads with the originators permission .....Toni??? what do you think.

i had a similar thought rob as to roy not knowing toni.. but like most of us, we dont flaunt what we have done in the past after it is been shown once to the family.. not saying its right just how i see it..

Well i saw this as a role us mods should play in helping to retain a member like Roy and showing Toni he is not alone. We all get great pleasure out of seeing both of the fellows work so I dont think it harms to resurrect posts. I was very lucky though i could remember them and find them.:thumb:

You make some good points, Rob. I never thought about it because the search function provides a pathway for anyone who is interested to seek out other work/members of like mind.

I'm looking forward to seeing Toni post more of the carvings he has done , thank you for the links it helps :thumb:

Likewise Roy, I like learning from everybody.

Maybe the mods could move my posts to the newly created sub forum.

Here are the links although I'm not sure they'll work as I never succeed in using the search engine properly.
