how would you plane or dimension thin wood?

I play with a lot of Quilted Big leaf- The Byrd heads reduce chip out but it Furs it up. I used the Performax- works perfect. Might get a little burn in the figure though. Not the easiest wood to get smooth but well worth the effort when you do.
