    Don't do pens

but as everyone has been posting them lately. Thought I'd throw in the one I just made. Havn't made one in years, so be gentle on the old wood butcher. Maple burl dyed black then sanded back. Was gonna add red but decided I liked it this way so left it. Also thought it needed some thing else, so made the box to go with it.

now that is sharp steve,, the black really zapped that burl.. and the carving or burning on the box is nice as well.. kinda hard to carry a boxed pen though how is the new old job going?

Well, I'd say you have not lost your touch. Great pen, the box is the masterpiece to me. Very nice little detail you slipped in. Awesome work on it all.

Nicely done on all counts. The burl really pops and the matching box is a nice touch too.
