Found this ruff out I had turned at least 6 mounts ago, probably longer than that. Thought it needed to be finished so I helped it out. Didn't have a piece of this oak left, so went with walnut for the lid. Thanks as always Steve

That's a pretty piece of wood.... looks like a piece I got from a lumberyard up in Wartburg area... I turned it, but wasn't sure it wasn't going to turn me... that stuff is hard as concrete... as my young protege down in Houston used to say, nearly made my gums bleed.
I don't think mine turned out quite as fine as yours, but it does get lots of attention at the shows.
Thanks all. Jim it's right at 7 inches tall by 4 1/4 wide at the bottom. Chuck nice piece, mine didn't seem to bad as far as hard. Now I have turned some dry hickory that I thought was concrete.
