Can see something like this being set up in a kiosk in shopping mall with say 10 units and offering to engrave all the portable devices people carry like phones and tablets just the way engravers used to have a load of business engraving say watches etc in the old days.

But for craft people perhaps at the right price its a competitor to the cutters ???

Its amazing the things that are happening in this space.

    cheers

    Wonder what it costs?

Notice his sample was a copyrighted logo???

Mall rental space is high, having the laser still there in the morning is low (theft). The bed moving like that must offer the chance for the work to shift if not clamped down.

I'll stick with my Epilog Laser.

In 2004 - before I bought my franchise business I seriously considered a Laser machine as a business. It was bigger than that and had a rotary axis. It was $18,000. I didn't do it at the time, as I opted to buy the franchise business.

I would still consider something laser as I get closer to retirement.

    Hi Rob.

Too late... I've seen such a kiosk at Madrid central train station, 4 years ago. They had one small laser engraver, and one small cnc milling engraver. They engraved what you wanted, mainly pet idetifyier medals, bracelets, baggage tags and so forth.
The planes I gave to the other members of the Tour the Wood 2010 had one of those medals.
    Best regards,
    Toni

If it was about $300 I'd buy one. Looks like lots of fun.
